In a post-9/11 world, it’s ballsy (and no doubt a marketing nightmare) for writer-director-star Albert Brooks to use the title he has. But the bold attitude doesn’t extend past the title card. The U.S. government sends Brooks to uncover what tickles the funny bone of Muslims in India and Pakistan, but unlike his classics Lost in America and Defending Your Life, Brooks wildly misses his satirical targets (nationalism and bureaucracy) in Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World.
