Adolescent mall punks will find plenty of pogo-ready material on Quietdrive’s debut. Produced by Butch Walker (Avril, Pink), the Minneapolis quintet’s When all That’s Left is You has all the hallmarks of slick, major-label emo: acrobatic guitar riffs (”Maybe Misery”), hook-laden breakup songs (”Get Up”), plus a Red Bull-fueled cover of Cyndi Lauper’s ”Time After Time” that should make great radio bait. Unfortunately, most of the lyrics are self-pitying diary entries about being ”broken, bruised, and numb.” Reliable and well made, but awfully unoriginal.
