We gave it a B
The good news is that Garth Brooks has made easily his best album of new material in a decade, called The Lost Sessions. The tempering news is that you’ll have to hit Wal-Mart and re-buy some of his less satisfying albums to get at it, since it’s only available as part of a five-CD/one-DVD boxed set. The fact that country is getting country-er again isn’t lost on this ”retiree,” with Sessions’ ”Please Operator” standing out as a classic drunk-tank ballad on the nearly underproduced disc. Here’s hoping Brooks keeps favoring Chris LeDoux over Chris Gaines.
