Okay, time to throw four teams of actors and directors in the PopWatch Steel Cage — weigh in and let us know which of ’em has the most promising movie deal:
Team A: Edward Norton (left), Colin Farrell, and Noah Emmerich are in talks to star in Pride and Glory, about a family of New York cops embroiled in a corruption scandal.
Team B: Director Catherine Hardwicke (Lords of Dogtown, Thirteen) is set to direct The Monkey Wrench Gang by screenwriter William Goldman (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) — it’s an adaptation of Edward Abbey’s comic novel about environmentalist saboteurs.
Team C: Michael Ian Black will direct Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) in a twisted romantic comedy called The Pleasure of Your Company, about a guy who startles his girlfriend into a fatal coronary by popping the question, then impulsively decides to marry a woman he just met.
Team D: Mr. Grim McGrimmenstein, Lars von Trier (Dogville, Dancer in the Dark), will tackle comedy (yep, you read that right) with The Manager of It All. In a Dogma 95-like stunt, he plans to shoot it using only one microphone. Alrighty then!
