If these mascaraed New Yorkers hadn’t arrived so late to the current synthrock party, would their cheeky I [love] the ’80s homages seem fresher? (Damn you, Killers!) To the Bravery’s credit, the first single, ”An Honest Mistake” — complete with a catchy, post-disco groove — is an honest effort with no expiration date. And this brisk debut might even Cure your Saturday-night blues, but there are countless other bands using electro blips to make us boogie and bang harder.
