We’re dying to see ”The Ring Two”

WHY WE CAN’T WAIT This scary sequel comes from the camera of Hideo Nakata, the Ring-master of the original Japanese horror franchise.

THE PREMISE Once again, Naomi Watts and her creepy little boy (David Dorfman) battle the vengeful spirit behind a deadly videotape.

SOURCE Gore Verbinski’s 2002 horror hit, inspired in turn by Nakata’s Ringu movies

THE BACK STORY Apparently, the plot is entirely different from that of Nakata’s own Ringu sequel. When it comes to directing a Hollywood version of his creation, Nakata says diplomatically, ”It was very… surreal.”

BURNING QUESTION How many more times can Watts — and this franchise — go back to the same well?

COME FOR Another screamtastic performance by Watts

STAY FOR Sissy Spacek, who knows from angry supernatural kids, as a skeptical doctor
