CUTS (Feb. 14, UPN) UPN tries to capitalize on the popularity of big-screen hit Barbershop with this One on One spin-off, featuring Marques Houston (Fat Albert) and Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie) as Baltimore haircutters.

THE CONTENDER (Feb. 21, NBC) Sixteen amateur boxers spar with Sylvester Stallone and Sugar Ray Leonard in hopes of being crowned lord of the ring. It’s just like The Next Great Champ, only…actually, it’s just like The Next Great Champ.

BLIND JUSTICE (March 8, ABC) Having lost his sight during a botched armed robbery, Det. Dunbar (Ron Eldard) must rely on his remaining senses to sniff out evil.

POWER GIRLS (March 10, MTV) A six-episode reality schmoozefest that follows lead-footed publicist Lizzie Grubman as she spices up the nightlife in New York City, the Hamptons, and Miami.

LIFE ON A STICK (March 23, Fox) An aggressively ”quirky” family comedy about two high school grads who score jobs slinging hot dogs at a food court.

SHOWDOG MOMS & DADS (March 30, Bravo) A real-life Best in Show from the geniuses who delivered last season’s kid-obsessed stage parents.

GREY’S ANATOMY (March, ABC) ABC reexamines the medical drama with this hour-long series about Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), a first-year resident who has to live up to her super-doc of a mom. Patrick Dempsey stars as Dr. Derek Shepherd, Grey’s sometime lover-boy.

THE INSIDE (March, Fox) Get to know the FBI’s Violent Crimes Unit, where agents led by The 4400‘s Peter Coyote tackle the most ”psychologically taxing” assignments.

LAW & ORDER: TRIAL BY JURY (March, NBC) Bebe Neuwirth stars in Dick Wolf’s latest brand extension, which explores the inner workings of the judicial system. Fred Dalton Thompson reprises his L&O role and the late Jerry Orbach appears in several episodes.

LIVING WITH FRAN (April, The WB) After flunking med school, Josh (Ben Feldman) heads home, only to find his mother (Fran Drescher) living with her twentysomething boy toy (Ryan McPartlin).

THE NICK LACHEY PROJECT (April, MTV) A SoulO Mr. Simpson makes like sis-in-law Ashlee by starring in his own reality show about his search for a new record deal.

IN THE GAME (spring, ABC) Ex-Party of Fiver Jennifer Love Hewitt plays a single mom/reluctant sports reporter alongside Married…With Children‘s Ed O’Neill, Cybill‘s Christine Baranski, and Roseanne‘s Sara Gilbert, as her best friend.

THE L WORD (Feb. 20, Showtime) Hallelujah! Bette and Tina find themselves awaiting the birth of their first child, while Shane moves in with troubled Jenny in the second season of the addictive sapphic soap.
