Justin Timberlake may not strike you as a gritty, hard-boiled, streetwise kind of guy, but he plays one in the movies. Coming off of his recently filmed starring role as a muckraking newspaper reporter in Edison, the pop crooner is about to costar in Alpha Dog, an independent feature about a real-life drug dealer. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sharon Stone will also costar in the film, which is being directed by Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook).

In the movie, Emile Hirsch (The Girl Next Door) will play Jesse James Hollywood, a dealer who became one of the youngest man ever to appear on the FBI’s most-wanted list. Timberlake will play his best friend, and Stone will play the mother of one of the lead characters. Shooting begins Oct. 25.
