We gave it a C
If you consider mimicry an art form, these guys should rate as Picassos. Nearly every track on this SoCal punk-pop band’s fifth album offers an amazing simulation of a different band currently on the Modern Rock chart, including Incubus, Creed, Staind, and Everlast. In fact, members of the Shack cowrote cuts with leaders of the last two acts. On earlier CDs, the group showed flashes of original wit (remember Pushing the Salmanilla Envelope?). Why are they too chicken to be themselves now?
