”Strapless,” Courtney Love said to reporters on Thursday at her Beverly Hills court date, as she showed off her bare shoulders and her rhinestone-trimmed black dress. ”It’s a silly case. Silly dress.” Judge Elden Fox didn’t find it so silly, however, and by the end of the hearing, he ruled that Love would have to stand trial on two charges of felony drug possession, the Associated Press reports. She’ll have to return to court to face those charges on April 30.

Judge Fox ruled that there was probable cause for a trial after hearing the testimony of Beverly Hills police Officer Douglas Trerise, who recalled responding to a medical emergency call at Love’s home in the early morning of Oct. 2. Before she was taken to the hospital and treated for an overdose, he said she handed him a baggie containing three oxycodone and three hydrocodone pills but could not produce a prescription for the painkillers. According to Reuters, defense attorney Michael Rosenstein did not challenge the officer’s testimony but told reporters that Love would provide prescriptions for the drugs. AP reports that the felony charges carry a possible sentence of three years and eight months in prison, but Deputy District Attorney Jeffrey Stodel told reporters that Love is eligible for a drug-diversion program that could keep her out of jail.

Earlier that same October day, Love was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly trying to break into manager and ex-boyfriend Jim Barber’s house. She’s due in court on Friday to face misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and being under the influence of a controlled substance in that case. Before that, she’ll face interrogation from Jay Leno when she makes a promotional appearance for her album ”America’s Sweetheart” on Thursday’s ”Tonight” show.
