Is it time to call the caterer for the bris? There may be a baby on the way to ”Will & Grace,” if the show’s scripters write Debra Messing’s real-life pregnancy into the show. TV’s ”Access Hollywood” broke the news of Messing’s impending stork visit on Friday, although the Associated Press quotes an NBC spokesperson as saying the network hasn’t made a decision on whether Messing’s TV character will become pregnant as well.

In real life, Messing, 35, has been married to her graduate-school sweetheart, screenwriter Daniel Zelman, for three years; the child, due next summer, will be their first. On TV, Grace got married last season to Dr. Leo Markus (Harry Connick Jr.), marking the first time in primetime history that a Jewish protagonist has married inside the faith, according to The Nation magazine. Messing won her first Emmy for the role in September; now she’ll have to childproof the trophy’s pointy tips.
