Snap to it! That was the command EW gave the celebrities who contributed to our third annual Candid Hollywood. Turning the tables on our stars, we handed each a Nikon Coolpix 3100 digital camera (provided by the company) and said, ”Show us your summer.” Whether they worked behind the lens or let a friend get the shot, our amateur photogs worked like the paparazzi — but with a higher purpose. Their efforts will raise money for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
Founded in 1997, the nonprofit organization seeks to improve music education in public schools by restoring programs in cities across the U.S. ”Many local school boards are facing huge budget challenges,” says Christina Norman, general manager of VH1. ”It’s more important than ever that we all work together to ensure that children receive all of the benefits that music education provides.”
To show our appreciation to the artists, EW will auction off selected images from these pages (along with other merchandise), with a portion of the proceeds going to the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
