We gave it a B
The sound is Norwegian hard rock, the look is Tom of Finland — meets — Village People, and the lyrical approach is junior-high snicker-inducing (”F — -the World,” etc.). Yet you can’t help but take Turbonegro seriously, especially when they unshackle their melodramatic metal with such conviction. At their raunchy best — ”Drenched in Blood (D.I.B.),” ”Le Saboteur” — they gleefully bridge the gap between the Misfits’ horror-show punk and Alice Cooper’s cartoon sleaze.
