For the second time in recent weeks, Gwyneth Paltrow has dropped out of a high-profile indie film project, reportedly because she’s still too distraught over her father’s death last fall to work. According to the Hollywood Reporter, she’s left the cast of ”I Love Huckabee’s,” the upcoming romantic comedy with Mark Wahlberg and Jude Law, that’s the first film for writer/director David O. Russell since 1999’s ”Three Kings.” ”The Ring”’s Naomi Watts is in talks to take her place on the film, which shoots in June.

Earlier this month, Paltrow dropped out of ”Happy Endings,” costarring Lisa Kudrow, and to be directed this summer by Don Roos (who directed Paltrow in ”Bounce”). Jennifer Garner is replacing her. Paltrow cited her grief over her father, TV producer Bruce Paltrow, for that departure as well, according to the Reporter. However, she’s managed to work on two films in the interim: the Sylvia Plath biopic ”Ted and Sylvia,” which was shooting when Bruce Paltrow died; and ”The World of Tomorrow,” a big-budget sci-fi film co-starring Law, which began shooting in March.
