THE CHART

KELLY, KELLY, KELLY

Just ask Moses: idolatry is no passing thing. Skeptics wondered if Kelly Clarkson had outlived her natural half-life, delaying her debut album from last fall until now. But she’s still America’s sweetie after all, with a big-lunged 297,000-copy welcome for Thankful. In a surprisingly healthy week on the charts, hers was one of four new releases topping 200K, followed by 50 Cent’s CD/DVD combo The New Breed, which bred 246,000 in sales; Fleetwood Mac’s Say You Will, which nicked 218,000 fans; and Darryl Worley’s Have You Forgotten?, whose on-sale date was remembered by 214,000 Bin Laden-haters.
