TLC plan first and last concert without Left Eye

Posted on

Since the death of TLC’s Lisa ”Left Eye” Lopes a year ago, the two surviving members of the R&B trio have made occasional appearances together but have not performed live. The Lopes-less TLC will do so for the first — and last — time on June 1, at the annual ”Zootopia” concert sponsored by New York radio station Z100, Billboard reports.

After Lopes died in a car crash in Honduras last April 26, Rozonda ”Chilli” Thomas and Tionne ”T-Boz” Watkins paid her tribute by using vocal tracks Lopes had left behind to complete the album ”3D,” which was released last November. ”This will be me and T’s first performance without her,” Thomas told Z100 listeners on Thursday. Thomas and Watkins will pay homage to fallen stars Aaliyah and Jam Master Jay as well. ”It’ll be a night that we all remember,” Thomas said.

The Zootopia show, to be held at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Also on the bill will be Ashanti, Ja Rule, JC Chasez, Ginuwine, Daniel Bedingfield, Simple Plan, Bowling For Soup, and Wayne Wonder.
