Bigmouthed brawlers muscle in on the book-selling business this week. On June 26, conservative pundit Ann Coulter wrestled with “the affable Eva Braun of morning TV” (that’s Katie Couric to you) in an odd head-to-head that’s helped propel Coulter’s Slander (163,140 copies in print after four pressruns) to No. 1. She pulls ahead of John McEnroe, whose You Cannot Be Serious (185,000 copies after seven pressruns) irked ex-wife Tatum O’Neal but serves its third week on the chart.
