Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum might be the most popular bounty hunter this side of Jango Fett. Her latest book, Hard Eight (550,000 copies in print after two pressruns), collars the No. 1 spot. Percolating below are two big reads boosted by the new morning-show book clubs: The Emperor of Ocean Park (500,000 copies in four pressruns) stays upwardly mobile at No. 3, while The Dive From Clausen’s Pier (265,000 copies in seven pressruns) rises to No. 8.
