THE CHARTS

IN HIGH GERE

Even a supernatural mothman couldn’t scare a steadfast young wizard from the top of this week’s charts. The Mothman Prophecies, a paranormal thriller starring Richard Gere, spooked its way into the top ten but couldn’t find a perch above Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. (Then again, no one really expected it to.) The week’s most surreal debut, however, goes to “Weird Al” Yankovic’s cult favorite UHF, which entered the DVD sales chart at No. 10. Weird indeed.
