DO THE FRIGHT THING

Be afraid. Be very afraid of this week’s rental chart. First, you’ve got The Others, a taut tale of apparitional terror starring Nicole Kidman as a single mom trying to make dead ends meet. Then there’s From Hell, with Johnny Depp on the hunt for Jack the Ripper and costar Heather Graham’s British accent. Sandwiched between them is Snow Dogs–which is scary for lots of reasons. Elsewhere, Attack of the Clones fever gave precursor The Phantom Menace a DVD boost.
