Move over, Batphone. Cingular’s special-edition Spider-Man phone has been ringing up orders since its April release. The silver-and-red-toned device — complete with webbed face plate ($39.99 at cingular.com) — has nearly sold out its original 5,000-unit run, and even caused a little squabble between Spider-Man costars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. Both actors vied for a prototype of the phone, but Maguire prevailed. ”We special-ordered Kirsten a phone to keep everything at peace between her and Tobey,” says Cingular spokesperson Chris Penrose. ”Now they can call each other on it.” Or not.
