HIGH ‘Q’ RATING

John Q. met its public and found plenty of like-minded HMO-haters out there. The fatherly-love thriller/health-insurance screed is Denzel Washington’s eighth No. 1 opening and third straight $20 million-plus debut (after Training Day and Remember the Titans). Britney Spears shimmied her way into second place with her girl-power road-trip vehicle Crossroads. As for the weekend’s other rookies: Disney’s Peter Pan sequel Return to Never Land thought happy thoughts while Bruce Willis’ WWII POW drama Hart’s War got stuck in the stalag. The big shocker was the relatively impressive debut of the modest, star-free comedy Super Troopers.
