School’s out and everyone’s favorite animated teenage misanthrope is in feel-good, arts-and-crafts hell: working as a counselor at camp It’s OK to Cry. Worse, best friend/partner in cynicism Jane Lane is away at a pretentious artists’ colony, leaving Daria to navigate the shallow waters of suburbia solo. In other words, summer sucks — and Daria wouldn’t have it any other way. Wielding a satire saber as sharp as ever (Lackluster Video, anyone?), MTV’s almost-feature-length flick tickles the inner antisocialite in all of us.
