ANIMAL INSTINCT

It’s no shocker that Pearl Harbor hit the top again, or that Shrek was right behind. What is a news flash, however, is how much box office chemistry doofus Rob Schneider and ex-Survivor Colleen Haskell generated with The Animal. With $19.6 million, Schneider one-upped his $12.2 million Deuce Bigalow debut and beat the week’s other newjacks: Nicole Kidman’s Moulin Rouge (expanding impressively after exclusive runs in New York City and L.A.) and Martin Lawrence’s What’s the Worst That Could Happen? (which wound up at No. 5 with a $13.0 million bow).
