THE ORIGINAL SPIKE JONZE SITE
www.angelfire.com/ca/computers arenotpunk/spikejonze.html
Spike Jonze’s Renaissance-man career is perfectly suited to a fan site: You can easily surf through descriptions of his various accomplishments, getting info on his skateboarding videos, his music-video direction, and, of course, his widely acclaimed Being John Malkovich. Sometimes the site reads a little too much like a résumé — until you reach Spike Stories, where fans and old friends write in about their brushes with Jonze. Says one awestruck acquaintance: ”He was like two grades over me, so he was cool.” B

Calling all Carrie wannabes! Answer 12 quick questions and find out which character you most resemble — Charlotte, Carrie, Samantha, or Miranda. Surprises are plentiful: A friend you thought was a snooty Charlotte could turn out to be a sexy Samantha. The site is sponsored by Bravo! Canada, which broadcasts Sex up north. B-

BLUE FLAME CAFE: ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE BLUES
www.blueflamecafe.com
You could cure your blues with a Prozac, but a dry martini at the Blue Flame Cafe might just hit the spot. The menu includes a peak into the lives of 119 blues greats — from Robert Johnson and Ma Rainey to Janis Joplin and T-Bone Walker. It’s easy to use, but a bit light on content, providing short audio samples and brief, watered-down essays on most performers. That’s okay for a novice, but disappointing for those better acquainted with the intimacy of a hazy, smoke-filled club. B-

It’s always a beautiful day in Mr. Beller’s Neighborhood, a New York City populated by real-life literary entrepreneur Thomas Beller (Parker Posey’s real-life paramour) and his fabulous friends. A clickable map takes you to a miscellany of delightful New York tales by Beller and his readers. In one memorable anecdote, he echoes millions of women upon meeting Claudia Schiffer at a party: ”Feed this girl!” A
