We gave it a B+

Reading a Robert Ludlum novel is like watching a James Bond film: The action is so slickly paced, the political details so all-consuming, the weapons and women so blatantly steeped in sex appeal, that getting to the end and admitting that maybe it doesn’t all add up would be bad sportsmanship. In The Prometheus Deception, we have our charming, misused hero (who’s fluent in a gazillion languages, natch) realizing that his entire life as a secret agent has been a lie. Or maybe not. Either way, there’s a hell of a lot of zinging from country to country with little care for airfare or jet lag, all in the name of discovering a truth that involves complicated weapons, wily governments, and buxom blonds. Hey, works for us. B+
