After last year’s hubbub over Keri Russell’s shorn locks, we can’t resist checking in on Felicity‘s tormented tendrils — and a few other new ‘dos on TV. EW asked celeb hairstylists Laurent D. of L.A.’s Prive Salon and Jose Eber to rate this season’s collection of coiffures.
KERI RUSSELL (The WB’s Felicity)
From Chia Head to the awkward ‘tweener stage.
”She’s very pretty, but it’s not there yet,” Eber says of Russell’s mane. ”It needs more length.”
GEENA DAVIS (ABC’s The Geena Davis Show)
Tame tresses give way to a voluminous ’80s-style mane.
”She looks unintimidating,” says Eber. ”Women across the country will relate to her.”
JOSHUA JACKSON (The WB’s Dawson’s Creek)
Boy next door turns military brat.
”It’s very modern looking, and change is good,” says Eber. Advises Laurent D.: ”He should grow his sideburns.”
OLIVER PLATT (NBC’s Deadline)
Bye-bye, goatee and mop top. Hello, Mr. Blow-Dryer.
Says Eber, ”Maybe he spent a little more time in front of the mirror. He looks more polished.”
JENNIFER ANISTON (NBC’s Friends)
Mrs. Pitt trades in hippie chic for a choppy bob.
”People always bring pictures [of her] into the salon,” says Laurent D. ”That won’t change with this cut.”
