But Stein isn’t as smug as others who have traced the familiar trajectory into neoconservatism. If the arguments in How I Accidentally Joined the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy (And Found Inner Peace) are often warmed-over, the accompanying incidental facts, lists, modest satirical proposals, and anecdotes (including the first time he was called ”fascist” at a dinner party) are sharp and self-deprecatory.
