The John Belushi Collection

Posted on

If you absolutely adore National Lampoon’s Animal House, 1941, and The Blues Brothers, then by all means, take this set home. You’ll get great wide-screen transfers, and the latter two feature restored footage — mostly stuff that didn’t really need to be restored (like more car-chase and musical footage in The Blues Brothers), but why complain? For me, the best thing on all three of these discs is the hilarious Animal House Yearbook, an oral history featuring every key player but the late Belushi, which proves that it takes truly funny people to make a truly funny movie. And since these DVDs are available separately (each retailing at $34.98), why buy three when you can have just one? B-
