Premiere Party: The World is Not Enough

Posted on

What’s this? James Bond sans martini? ”I have to start with champagne and work up to the martini,” explained Pierce Brosnan, as he sipped some unshaken, unstirred bubbly. Well, it’s his party…and besides, the Nov. 8 premiere bash for The World Is Not Enough had Bondian touches galore. Held at the Santa Monica airport, the affair featured go-go dancers, roulette wheels, and guns made of chocolate. Joining costars Denise Richards and John Cleese were Laurence Fishburne, Ted Danson, Rene Russo, and Rachael Leigh Cook. Bachelorette Lauren Holly and model pal Rachel Hunter got into the swinging scene. ”We’ve heard all about the Bond women. We were hoping to meet some Bond men,” joked Holly. Sadly, Bond is taken. Brosnan’s fiancee, Entertainment Tonight‘s Keely Shaye Smith, arrived sporting a new, chunky engagement ring. The actor who loves her sounded like he’s also committed to the Bond franchise: ”The first outing as Bond was tough. I had some big shoes to fill. Now the shoes are beginning to fit a little more comfortably.”
