Even former New Kids on the Block groupies might not have recognized a ravaged Donnie Wahlberg in the opening scenes of The Sixth Sense. The onetime teen popster gets a better chance to show off his acting chops in this gangster flick and does a credible job as a confused kid torn by divided loyalties — he’s at least as good as his brother, Mark. The movie itself, however, is merely a stale rehash of the Denis Leary pic Monument Ave. — itself merely a stale Boston-Irish rehash of half a dozen early Scorsese films.
