A week after his ex, Cindy Crawford, had her first child, it was revealed that actor Richard Gere, 49, and his girlfriend, actress Carey Lowell, 38, are expecting a baby early next year. It will be his first child, her second.

Actress Rosie Perez, 34, to indie director Seth Zvi Rosenfeld (A Brother’s Kiss), July 10, in New York. It’s the first marriage for both.

Desiccated rocker Mick Jagger, 55, and his wife, model Jerry Hall, 44, agreed to obtain an annulment July 9. Married since 1990, Jagger and Hall averted a divorce trial in which the Rolling Stone frontman was expected to contend that the couple’s Bali wedding was not legally binding under British law. No details of the settlement have been released, but Hall will reportedly receive around $15 million of Jagger’s $220 million fortune and their four children will receive about $5 million total in trust funds.

DreamWorks partner Jeffrey Katzenberg, 49, and the Walt Disney Company settled a breach-of-contract suit, July 7, in L.A. In 1996, Katzenberg, the head of Disney studios from 1984 to 1994, claimed that when he left Disney, he was denied bonuses totaling at least $250 million. On May 19, a court ruled in his favor; the valuation phase began in June. The parties refuse to discuss terms, but reports say Katzenberg will receive between $250 and $275 million in all.

Pop star Elton John, 52, from pacemaker implant surgery, July 9, in London. In a statement, John said that after suffering dizzy spells July 3, he was diagnosed with a minor heart imbalance and treated at London’s Wellington Hospital. He is recuperating at his home in Nice and has postponed all July concert appearances.

Rapper-producer Luther ”Luke” Campbell, 38, for aggravated battery, July 5, in Miami Beach. According to a police report, while at a show at a South Beach nightspot, Campbell allegedly became irate with a man who was blocking his view and hit him in the face with a bottle. Campbell’s lawyer denies the charge, saying, ”They arrested the wrong guy.”… ’70s teen idol Leif Garrett, 37, for narcotics possession, June 29, in L.A. Police allegedly found heroin and cocaine on the onetime bubblegum rocker. Garrett, who is free on $10,000 bail, did not return calls, but he has asked the court to consider his eligibility for a drug-counseling diversion program instead of jail time.

Singer Roberta Sherwood, 86, of heart failure and cancer, July 5, in L.A. Sherwood performed on stage with Mickey Rooney and Milton Berle, among others…. Actor-writer Ronny Graham, 79, of complications from liver disease, July 4, in L.A. Graham, who collaborated with Mel Brooks on such films as To Be or Not to Be and Spaceballs, also wrote for TV’s M*A*S*H.
