''The Joey Bishop Show''

”The Joey Bishop Show” — The 60’s sitcom replaying on TV Land is worth a second look.

Posted on

Years after George Burns played a comedian in an eponymous sitcom, and long before Seinfeld, there was The Joey Bishop Show (TV Land, April 18, 10:30-11 a.m.). Airing from ’61 to ’65, Bishop’s vehicle exuded low-rent swagger. In addition to Marlo Thomas (who got her sitcom start playing his sister), Abby Dalton (as his wife), and ex-Stooge Joe Besser (as his landlord), Bishop boasted guests like Leo Durocher and Sheldon Leonard. Tune in for a B-list bonanza.
