THE PROPHECY II Christopher Walken, Jennifer Beals (1997, Dimension, R, $103.99) The archangel Gabriel (Walken, hamming it up) is back, this time in a plot borrowed from The Terminator: His objective is to kill the half-human, half-angel fetus being carried by single mom Valerie (Beals), as it has been written that this child will be instrumental in ending the civil war in heaven. As drama, it’s utterly ludicrous, and the repeated scenes of hearts being ripped out of chests grow tiresome, but moments of wit keep this unnecessary sequel watchable.
