ARRESTED Actor Mykelti Williamson (Con Air), 40, was arrested for investigation of stalking and assault with a deadly weapon, Jan. 6, in L.A. According to police, Williamson’s ex-wife, Cheryl Chisolm, who’s in her late 30s, saw the actor lurking near her home on the evening of Jan. 5. Williamson then allegedly stabbed Chisolm’s 32-year-old male companion (whose name has been withheld) outside the house. The victim is in stable condition at an unnamed area hospital. A spokeswoman for the actor has no comment other than to say that Williamson was released on $180,000 bail the same day.
DEATHS Pioneering country pianist Floyd Cramer, 64, of lung cancer, Dec. 31, in Madison, Tenn. Cramer recorded with such music greats as Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, and Roy Orbison. His instrumental hit ”Last Date” reached No. 2 in 1960…. Silent-film star Billie Dove, 97, of pneumonia, Dec. 31, in Woodland Hills, Calif. Appearing in such films as 1926’s The Black Pirate (with Douglas Fairbanks Sr.) and 1927’s American Beauty, Dove made headlines in the late 1920s when she had an affair with Howard Hughes while married to her first husband, director Irving Willat.
