A site of immediate interest to entertainment addicts, Box Office Guru, maintained by Clifton, N.J., resident Gitesh Pandya, crunches and analyzes movie box office grosses. The database goes back to 1989, yet as stat-happy as the site is, there’s not quite enough perspective. The telltale per-screen averages — helpful in drawing apples-to-apples comparisons between films — aren’t included in the weekly report; they are in the seasonal overview, but by then they’re far less relevant. And the historical charts are just that: numbers and no interpretation. A good start, nonetheless. C+
