The riveting life and grievous death of the Princess of Wales is spilling into video stores. Four new documentaries — all titled Diana — repackage TV coverage of her death and funeral with older material. DIANA: THE PEOPLE’S PRINCESS (MVP, $14.95) has intensive coverage of the crash but runs on empty interviews. ABC News produced the pundit-strewn DIANA: LEGACY OF A PRINCESS (MPI, $14.98); the BBC’s DIANA: A CELEBRATION, THE PEOPLE’S PRINCESS REMEMBERED (CBS/Fox, $14.98) is more decorous. The most extensive funeral coverage, however, may never see daylight: 102,000 copies of ABC News’ DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES: THE FINAL FAREWELL (MPI, $14.98) sit in warehouses due to a rights dispute over the use of the BBC’s footage shot inside Westminster Abbey.
