From stage to sarcophagus: Actor Tim Guinee, 34, cut his teeth doing critically hailed turns in Off Broadway’s subUrbia and Twelfth Night. Now he’s going Hollywood in the most blood-curdling way imaginable. Guinee is starring in not one but two upcoming vampire flicks. In Blade, he plays a dentally enhanced monster to Wesley Snipes’ vampire hunter. Guinee himself plays the hunter in John Carpenter’s Vampires, now shooting in New Mexico. ”When I started, I thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m doing vampire movies,”’ Guinee says, ”But then I thought, ‘When I was a kid, these were the movies I loved.”’ Still, he doesn’t aspire to become the next Vincent Price. This fall, Guinee will direct his first movie, The Love of Their Life, written by his new wife, Daisy Foote (daughter of playwright Horton). Here’s hoping he hasn’t bitten off more than he can chew.
