We gave it a B+

In the ’70s, Boz Scaggs’ pop-soul was a soundtrack to the blow-dried look, stuck between a blues-tinged wail and a pop croon. He leans toward the former on this roots rediscovery project, a leathery-sweet package of blues and R&B. Scaggs floats an Aaron Neville-ish vibrato on ”Love Letters” and shows throaty cool on ”T-Bone Shuffle.” Come on Home is where his bluesy heart is. B+
