Looking like a TV pilot that didn’t sell, this painfully tame straight-to-tape Western shows Henriksen (star of Fox’s heavily hyped flop series Millennium) dodging another bullet to his career. In Gunfighter’s Moon, he comes across as pretty stodgy in his role as a nice-guy gunfighter tired of killing his young challengers. The script meanders from there into yet another clumsy rehashing of High Noon. Such classic Westerns still inspire some rousing new movies, but not ones in which 19th-century characters talk about the local high school.
