We gave it a B-

Joining companion discs to Melrose Place, Friends, and The X-Files, Music From Party of Five is as cohesive as you would expect from an album that includes consecutive tracks by Chaka Khan, Joe Jackson, and Syd Straw. But it’s surprisingly ambitious, too, thanks in part to the quirky musical poses of its trio of cover girls: Holly Palmer coos sensually on Bob Dylan’s ”All I Really Wanna Do,” Rickie Lee Jones breezes aimlessly through Donovan’s ”Sunshine Superman,” and Stevie Nicks does that warbling thing she does so well on Tom Petty’s ”Free Fallin’.” B-
