Sade Interactive

Posted on

As drably by the numbers as an old VH1 programming block, Sade Interactive has all the accoutrements of the nascent enhanced-CD format: videos, an essay, lyrics, even a lame attempt at a trivia quiz. What it doesn’t have is the slightest whiff of excitement, which I ascribe half to the icy-cold, smooth-as-mousse ensemble and half to the programmers who make videos of such hits as ”Smooth Operator” look as if they were copied off third-generation VHS dubs. Most sadistic of all: Before this disc relinquishes its grip on your PC, it forces you to sit through two minutes of achingly slow credits. C-
