Just what the new-release shelf needed this spring: a fruit-cakey Yuletide fable. Mia Farrow is instantly annoying as a spacey housewife whose husband has hired a hit-man to kill her on Christmas Eve. More maddening is her journey of self-discovery, full of quirky characters who seem to have escaped from TV’s Picket Fences.
