Spring has sprung and the hormones are flying in the titillating telepic A Friend’s Betrayal. The glibly scripted drama begins with hip and restless New York graphic designer Nina (NYPD Blue‘s underutilized Sharon Lawrence) going home for her mother’s funeral. While hanging out with old friend Abby (Harley Jane Kozak), she reacquaints herself with Abby’s son Paul (Beverly Hills, 90210‘s Brian Austin Green), a high school senior and fledgling photographer who’s all grown up and ready for a coming-of-age fling. Paul and Nina are conveniently thrown together on a weekend trip to San Francisco, which leads to several erotic, stylishly shot love scenes. Deliciously silly high-camp theater ensues when angry mom Abby (still steaming over Nina’s past affair with her husband) discovers their tryst. Although Green never really stretches beyond his blank-stare method of acting, Lawrence is classy and red-hot as a sexy older woman with a libido half her age. Betray your better judgment and indulge in this May-December sweeps offering. B+
