William Shatner's Star Trek Memories

Posted on

Less anecdotal than the book it’s spun off from, the 86-minute lovefest William Shatner’s Star Trek Memories has Shatner and crew mouthing admiring bromides about the show’s significance, what made it special, how nobody involved had any idea it would become the… blah, blah, blah. If you have even a rudimentary knowledge of Trek history, you’ll find nothing new here. On the other hand, when Shatner drops fleeting references to his own egotism, or goes on about scantily clad extras, his reminiscences offer unintentional amusement. And the montages of series clips move along so well, you don’t always mind that Memories goes where we’ve been before.
