Grisham Reigns

Posted on

When it rains, it pours. John Grisham’s latest paperback, The Rainmaker, hit the charts at No. 1 soon after landing in stores. Meanwhile, the film version of his first novel, A Time to Kill, starring Sandra Bullock and Samuel L. Jackson, just wrapped production; another movie, based on The Chamber, begins filming this spring with Gene Hackman and Chris O’Donnell; and Michael Douglas’ company has bought the rights to The Rainmaker. Ratings are poor for the TV series based on The Client, but that’s hardly rain on Grisham’s parade. His next book, The Runaway Jury — about the machinations behind a sensational trial — will be published this spring.
