NO QUELLING THE SEQUELS

Posted on

OUT WITH THE OLD and in with the…old. In 1996 the sequels keep on coming. Shirley MacLaine reprises her role as Aurora Greenway, and Jack Nicholson is back playing retired astronaut Garrett Breedlove, as the 1983 Oscar-winning weepie Terms of Endearment gets an update in The Evening Star. Now filming in Houston, the drama gives Aurora a new love interest — Apollo 13’s Bill Paxton. For better or worse, new installments of 1995’s Bad Boys, Mortal Kombat, and The Brady Bunch Movie are under way. Shooting starts this month for Shelley Long and gang on A Very Brady Sequel, in which Carol’s first husband (Tim Matheson) returns, throwing the family into a crisis. That leaves just Apollo 14, Ten Months, and Eight yet to be slated.
