We gave it a B-

One cut makes this a must-buy: ”Sally Goodin,” on which Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs, both of whom spawned the genre, meet for the first time since 1948. It’s 4 minutes and 59 seconds of pure goose bumps. Otherwise, fiddler Berline’s latest is a letdown: too many quick cameos (Vince Gill, Mason Williams) and silly novelty numbers. B-
