Heat wave got you feeling lethargic? Here’s something to make you kick up your heels: Ex-pro dancer Walter Laird’s wonderfully kitschy multimedia ballroom dance tutor, The Ballroom Dance Pack — complete with guidebook, CD, instruction cards, and shoe stencils. (Remember: ”Ballroom dancing teaches the social graces,” according to Laird.) The kit’s four-pronged assault should have even die-hard clodhoppers dancing in the aisles. And, in true ’90s fashion, you don’t need a partner to learn your half of each of the six dances, including the waltz, quickstep, and rumba. Just copy each step of the book’s frighteningly well-groomed models, and it’ll be ”cha-cha-cha” in no time. B+
