Plotting: Whitney Houston will be in her Sunday best in a remake of 1947’s The Bishop’s Wife. In the original, Loretta Young and David Niven were a couple trying to raise money for a new church, with Cary Grant as an angel. There’s no script yet but wanna bet Houston will be warbling a potential mega-hit or two?

Shooting: Jodie Foster is getting back to nature in Nell, filming in the backwoods of North Carolina. The Oscar winner plays an isolated woman who enters the real world after years in the care of her hermit mother. Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson costar in the Christmas release.

Editing: Clint Eastwood (as producer) and director James Keach are busy assembling The Stars Fell on Henrietta, for a ’95 release. The drama stars Robert Duvall as a drifter who strikes oil in 1930s Oklahoma.
